Portugal 2017 5€ The Future

As part of an unprecedented project run in partnership with the municipality of Setúbal, which aims to stimulate artistic and numismatic creation among young people and the school community, INCM is minting a coin on the theme of "The Future", designed by the young Martim Estanislau, winner of the 1st edition of the "Design the Coin" competition, which featured the participation of over 800 secondary school students from Setúbal.
Through the simple and innocent drawings of a child, the reverse of the coin features a past of war and death, and the obverse shows a future without war, with peace, freedom and equality for all.
