The Red Cross was founded in Geneva in 1863 with the aim of providing aid to victims of conflicts and alleviate human suffering. It is currently made up of millions of volunteers all over the world.
To mark 150 years since the foundation of this international humanitarian institution, the INCM decided to mint a coin, with a face value of 2,50 Euros, which is the result of a design created by José Bandeira and engraving work performed by Delgado Nunes.
